ICA’s new bio-based topcoat for outdoor use

The Arborea Protech range from Italy’s ICA Group has introduced a new water-based bio-based topcoat, the LA631, available in both one-component and two-component formulations.

Designed for outdoor wooden items such as garden furniture, doors, window frames and shutters, this coating offers superior protection against weathering and excellent resistance to grease and oils such as lotions and sweat.

Formulated with renewable materials derived from innovative refining processes of non-consumable plant substances, this bio-based product is available in a matt finish, in clear, white, or pigmented versions.

Its high solid content ensures robust protection against weathering and ultra-violet rays, making it ideal for wood windows, shutters, and doors that need high durability near handles and openings.

The LA631 leverage plant-based substances for their resin content, contributing to decreased atmospheric CO2 emissions through photosynthesis, thereby aiding in the reduction of carbon-dioxide in the environment.

Many advantages

The LA631 provides exceptional protection for window frames and shutters exposed to weathering and UV rays, thanks to its optimal weather resistance.

Its chemical resistance prevents the softening of the coating film on frequently touched surfaces like doors and windows, maintaining integrity against grease and oils.

With high scratch resistance, the topcoat ensures durability in high-contact areas. It is versatile enough to be used for coating window frames, shutters, external doors, and garden furniture elements.

Moreover, the LA631 offers significant environmental benefits. It is made with 30% renewable raw materials, resulting in reduced consumption of non-renewable resources and lower CO2 emissions.

Its low volatile organic compounds contribute to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, supporting environmental sustainability.
