Homag India recently marked the begining of its design and production of woodworking CNC machines for the domestic and international markets. At a ceremony to unveil the first of its two CNC machines – the CENTATEQ and DRILLTEQ sectors – the company invited some valued clients, and feted its design and engineering teams for the achievement.
In the world of woodworking and joinery, the precision and finish are not merely details, they are essential elements that define the quality and durability of the final products.
CNC (computer numerical control) processing centers, which execute complex cutting, drilling and milling operations with precision and speed, are integral to modern woodworking production, enabling the creation of intricate designs necessary for high-quality furniture and carpentry.
CNC machining centers have revolutionized the woodworking industry by bringing high levels of precision, repeatability and efficiency to what was once a largely manual craft.
The implementation of CNC technology in woodworking facilitates mass production while also allowing for the creation of intricate designs that would be difficult or impossible to achieve by hand.
New strategies
Homag India offers a range of CNC solutions that cater to various levels of production needs and is a preferred partner for woodworking professionals in the country. What is more, its factory in Dabaspete, near Bengaluru, has embraced two strategies in manufacturing: local for local (L4L) and local for global (L4G).
“This approach underscores our dedication to providing quality made in Homag effectively, meeting a wide spectrum of customer needs and budget considerations with high efficiency,” said Venkataramana Gorti, Managing Director and Country Head of Homag India. “Our localization strategy not only amplifies the accessibility and allure of our product portfolio but also significantly enhances customer satisfaction.”
Udo Mauerer, Vice-President (Asia-Pacific) at Homag Group says: “Our investment a few years ago into a new and larger facility in Bengaluru, is not only a strong commitment to the Indian market but also a commitment to the Asia-Pacific region.”
Frederik Meyer, Executive Vice-President of CNC Processing at Homag Group adds: “We want to use our internal product development and production network, to serve our customers with products, which are matching the local requirements and are close to the markets and their needs. I am proud of our team in India and am proud of the new product which they have developed here in India.”
This strategic manufacturing decision profoundly impacts Homag India‘s ability to swiftly respond to market demands and underscore its commitment to outstanding customer service and support. “The CENTATEQ P-100, DRILLTEQ H-308 and DRILLTEQ H-310 are more than just products; they are holistic solutions shaped around the specific needs of our customers,” Venkat added.

CENTATEQ P-100
The CENTATEQ P-100 machining center represents a significant advancement in CNC machining technology, catering specifically to a wide variety of industries including home interiors, hospitality, healthcare, education, construction and business establishments.
Its broad functionality – from routing and drilling to sawing and specialized wood applications, combined with the capacity for 3, 4 and 5-axes operations – enables the CENTATEQ P-100 to efficiently process materials of large dimensions, thereby accommodating extensive project requirements with precision and ease.
The machine serves a diverse market segment, ranging from small workshops requiring customization to large-scale manufacturers aiming for high-volume production. Its versatility is demonstrated through its capabilities to job-shop production, batch production, mass production and continuous production, making it an invaluable asset across varied manufacturing environments.
The CENTATEQ P-100‘s flexibility is emphasized through its modular and configurable design, allowing businesses to select only the features and capabilities pertinent to their operations, thereby optimizing their investment.
This strategic shift towards offering tailored solutions accommodates the budgetary and operational demands of a broader spectrum of businesses, positioning the CENTATEQ P-100 as a competitive option within the CNC machining market.
The inclusion of the advanced PC-87 control system enhances productivity and reduces setup times significantly. The machine‘s design optimizes the use of space within production facilities, a particularly valuable trait for establishments with spatial constraints.
Importantly, the tiered pricing model – which offers configurations from entry-level to fully loaded options – ensures that businesses can align their equipment investment closely with their specific operational needs and budget constraints, making it a sensible choice for companies at different stages of growth and development.
2-in-2 drilling
The DRILLTEQ line is a high-speed CNC processing center designed for precision drilling and routing in the furniture manufacturing industry. It offers six-sided processing, allowing it to drill six sides of a work piece simultaneously.
It features a dual-station design, enabling a single operator to work on two different work fields simultaneously. With 64 high-speed drilling spindles and three milling cutter motors, the DRILLTEQ H-308 ensures precision and flexibility in every drilling and milling operation.
The machine operates on two working fields that can be fed by an operator at the same time, offering a two-in-one machine. As one field is working on one panel, the other field can prepare for further processing of the work piece.
Meanwhile, its upgraded variant, the DRILLTEQ H-310, provides the same functions but can be connected in a fully automatic line and can be controlled by a computer or robot.
The DRILLTEQ H-308 is suitable for firms that produce up to 900 pieces a shift and specifically tailored for panel furniture manufacturers, including cabinet and custom furniture factories. This CNC machining center is designed to streamline production processes, optimize space, and provide accuracy.
The machine features a clamping system that ensures secure and precise workpiece positioning, the machine features automatic spindle clamping system while drilling, this feature is helpful in processing hard materials and to have precise drill depths and a programmable drilling depth that improves processing accuracy while reducing waste.
woodWOP software is included in the machine, enabling fast and intuitive operation and the ability to create individual sub-programs. It also has greater programming security by providing 3D images of the work pieces and the processing and clamping equipment.
Flexible all-rounder
Precision is paramount in drilling operations to ensure the proper fit and function of components. The DRILLTEQ V-200 is designed to maintain high accuracy in drilling, even at high speeds, to meet the quality standards expected in industries such as furniture manufacturing.
