(R-L) Markus Weber, Managing Director; Pandu Rathod, India Sales Head; and Patrick Chedjou, Head of Hans Weber sanding division, at the inauguration of the company’s Bengaluru demo centre.
German sanding technology leader and machinery supplier, Hans Weber Machinenfabrik GmbH, inaugurated its first showroom and demo centre in Bengaluru’s Peenya industrial area recently.
Starting its India operations in 2019 and led by its sales head, Pandu Rathod, the company designs and manufactures high-precision sanding machines for the hard metal and wood-based furniture manufacturing industries with a wide array of machines.
In an exclusive chat with WoodNews, Managing Director Markus Weber said that, taking cognisance of the increasing demand in India for machines capable of meeting strict industry demands, the company has invested in the demo centre. It will cater to the metal and woodworking industries across India.
Pandu recalled that, after the initial hiccups on account of the Covid-19-related social and factory restrictions, Hans Weber had sold more than 10 machines across industries in the country: for deburring, calibrating, varnish and veneer processing.
Although the machinery looks very similar, the tooling for wood and metalworking is vastly separate. Markus highlighted Hans Weber’s proposition for its technology and machines as:
• Robust fabrication for high-precision applications
• Renowned German technology for high quality
• Machinery made for speed and efficiency
• High-end process controls and operating recipes
• Maintaining quality in clients’ industrial output
Touch, feel, sample!
The Bengaluru demo centre will make industries aware of high-end sanding processes and solutions based on their requirements. Prospective customers can get to touch and feel its prowess in applications across materials.
What is more, visitors can bring their own samples to test the machines and the efficacy of Hans Weber technology!
On maintaining inventory and spares, Markus remarks: “Our machines are good to run for years. However, if the contingency arises, we can recommend Indian suppliers of tools that may need repair or replacement.”
Enormous research and development efforts put in by the 100-year-old, family-owned company, which has made it a global leader.
These have led to constant efforts to re-engineer its machines to deliver higher speed, precision and efficiency, to reduce output times for the company’s customers worldwide.
Hans Weber is also a global leader in profile extrusion of technical plastics and provider of modern industrial robotics and automation solutions – but these are yet to make an entry into India. For more information, write to pandu.rathod@handweber.de.
