An announcement from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, says that the implementation of the Quality Control Order (QCO) for mandatory BIS on panels and other wood products will be delayed.

This comes as a relief for local manufacturers and importers as the time was too short, particularly for the ‘unorganised’ manufacturers who will be required to apply for the certification after adjusting their production processes and introducing testing to meet the new standards. - ITTO
