Italy’s SCM ready with Indian subsidiary

SCM recorded a very encouraging response at the show allowing the Italian group an opportunity to demonstrate a cutting-edge selection of its best machines and services for both panel and solid wood processing.

One of the main attractions was the Morbidelli P200, a universal CNC machining centre conceived to satisfy any drilling, routing and edge banding requirement. Also in evidence was Stefani KD, a heavy-duty and versatile edge bander for working different types of panels, even with delicate surfaces, thanks to its upper belt presser.

For sanding, SCM also displayed the DMC SD70, ideal for small-size manufacturers who look for effectiveness, efficiency and a high level of versatility, especially for calibrating MDF, plywood and solid wood – as well as sanding veneered panels and finishing painted surfaces.

Indian subsidiary

IndiaWood was also the opportunity for SCM to announce the opening of a new India subsidiary in Bengaluru. The company is in the process of expanding its sales and service infrastructure in India to cater to the entire region.

The group recently appointed three Area Managers, each of them responsible of a specific area of the market:

•        North India: Amit Saini (amit.saini@scmgroup.com)

•        South India: Anil Narayan (anil.narayan@scmgroup.com)

•        West India: Mallikarjun Mahadev Totiger (mallikarjun.totiger@scmgroup.com)

•        Coordinator: Saravanan Sampath (ssampath@scmgroup.com).
